BBE WINS THREE CONNECTICUT BUILDING CONGRESS PROJECT TEAM AWARDS

Bartlett Brainard Eacott, Inc. (BBE) has been honored with three awards in the 2022 Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) Project Team Awards. This award recognizes outstanding building projects that exemplify project team excellence and represent the best practices in teamwork by owners, architects, engineers, constructors and trades. Each year, CBC recognizes projects whose team members have met or surpassed project goals and achieved higher project quality through close collaboration, mutual respect and teamwork.

The Cigna Wilde Building Renovation project took First Place honors in the Large Commercial / Industrial Category. Built in 1957, the health insurance company’s headquarters was then considered one of the finest examples of modern office architecture. Over time, the interior spaces became tired and dated, with thousands of square feet of space unusable. The team worked together successfully to preserve the building’s historic architecture while creating a contemporary, collaborative and inviting work space that meets the business needs of the 21st century.

The Boys & Girls Club of Hartford’s New South End facility won First Place in the Large Civic Category. The facility opened in September 2021 and is the culmination of a high degree of collaboration and problem-solving between the City of Hartford, Hartford Public Schools, the client and the entire design and construction team. With no other afterschool facilities for children in this part of the City, the project fulfilled a need for a new facility that could bring education and recreational support services to 1,500 youth in a much-needed safe and nurturing environment.

The CREC Ana Grace Academy of the Arts in Bloomfield received a Merit Award in the K-12 Schools (Large) category. This 157,000-SF PreK-Grade 8 facility provides a permanent home for two schools in an environment that encourages hands-on, expertly-instructed and innovative fine and performing arts learning.
All winning projects were honored at the CBC Project Team Awards Gala at the Aqua Turf in Southington on June 14.
